Vision
To create awareness throughout Ireland about the Holocaust and its consequences.
Mission
To share good practice in delivering Holocaust education, remembrance and awareness programmes, and to ensure that Ireland commemorates the Holocaust and educates about it. To promote government policies that uphold the commitments of the Stockholm Declaration 2000, undertaking to counter anti-semitism, all forms of racism, Holocaust denial and distortion of the Holocaust.

Our work
Holocaust Education Ireland works to advance our mission with government, schools, teachers, educators, scholars, youth organisations and the public. Our programmes and educational materials are structured to provide accurate and comprehensive information and to raise awareness about prejudice, discrimination, hate speech and misinformation. We teach where these dangers can lead if they are not refuted.
Holocaust Education Ireland strives to provide educational programmes and materials free of charge so that no one is precluded from accessing them because of financial constraints. The principle of gratis underlies most programmes for schools, teacher education, cultural events for the public.

We need to know.
We work to educate teachers, students and people from all walks of life about the Holocaust. Our initiatives are open to all have reached thousands of people.
Partnership and collaboration with teacher education organisations, schools and youth organisations throughout Ireland engages teachers and young people in learning about the Holocaust and its consequences, prompting learning about the importance of social inclusion, equality and social justice
Working in collaboration with organisations such as the Irish Film Institute, Dublin Festival of History, Anne Frank House ‘Stories that Move’ Workshop enable Holocaust Education Ireland to reach increased numbers of individuals every year.
Each teacher that receives training from Holocaust Education Ireland through courses which include the free online 2-hour CPD webinar on The Holocaust Narrative teaches an average of 100 students annually. These educational programmes have a multiplier effect across the community.
Holocaust Education Ireland runs outreach programmes for schools which include The Mary Elmes Prize in Holocaust Studies, Transition Year Module in Holocaust Studies, The Crocus Project, The Holocaust Narrative Live Presentation for Schools and Hearing a Holocaust Survivor Speak Programme. Each programme has been designed to engage young people and teach about the Holocaust in an accessible manner appropriate for all age groups.
