2017’s National Holocaust Memorial day took place on Sunday, 29 January 2017 in the Mansion House, Dublin.

The keynote address was given by the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Paschal Donohoe, TD.

The National Holocaust Memorial Day commemoration takes place on the Sunday nearest to the 27 January every year, the date Auschwitz was liberated. It is attended by people from all walks of Irish life. It cherishes the memory of those who perished, honours the survivors and teaches the lessons of the Holocaust to future generations. Candles are lit for the six million Jews who perished as well as all of the other victim groups.
